Bec McDorman, MS, RDN, FAND (Communications Director) rreceived her Master’s in Agriculture at Cal Poly Pomona, while simultaneously completing the Didactic Program in Dietetics. She completed her dietetic internship at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, MD. She currently works for Morrison Healthcare as a Regional Clinical Nutrition Manager in San Diego, CA with her cats Paisley Blue, Eerie and Igor.

Mary Gray Hixson, MPH, RD, LDN (Member Services Director) holds a Master of Public Health degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Mary Gray has also received her certificate of training in Adult Weight Management and has over 10 years of experience. She serves as lead dietician and program co-coordinator for UNC REX Bariatric Specialists, one of the leading bariatric practices in DS surgery on the east coast of the US. Ms. Hutchison pioneered the practice’s standards of nutrition regimen, education.

Catherine M. Champagne, PhD, RDN, LDN, FADA, FAND, FTOS, FAHA (Professional Development Director)is Chief, Nutritional Epidemiology at Pennington Biomedical Research Center. A long standing member of the Acadamy, her interests are women and children’s health, child nutrition, diets for weight loss and chronic disease, and nutritional assessment of diverse populations. One of her significant achievements was the final design of the DASH and DASH-Sodium diets. She has been involved in many NIH funded trials and receives funding for child nutrition and military nutrition research.

Sarah T. Henes, PhD, RD, LD (Research Director). Sarah's current research includes: The FoodMASTER initiative (PI: Dr. Melanie Duffrin, Northern Illinois University). Teaches math and science through food and nutrition, with a focus on underserved youth. As State Coordinator for EFNEP (Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program) Sarah's work focuses on both adult and youth nutrition programming and curricula for low income families, collaborating with other Extension and Department colleagues (i.e. SNAP-Ed, 4H), and developing a variety of community partnerships throughout the state of Georgia for nutrition, health, and wellness.

Melissa Page, MS, RDN, CSOWM, LDN (Policy and Advocacy Leader) is a Registered Dietitian and Certified Specialist in Obesity Weight Management who has worked in bariatrics for the past 8 years in Portland, ME and Boston. She holds a Master’s in Clinical Nutrition from Tufts University’s Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy and a Bachelor’s in Dietetics from Indiana University. She has been an active member of both the Weight Management DPG executive council and her local state affiliate associations. She believes policy and advocacy are essential to the advancement of our profession and the health of our nation.
