Meghann completed her Dietetic Internship through the University of Delaware and her Bachelor of Science in Food and Nutrition from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Meghann is also a Certified Wellness Practitioner through the National Wellness Institute. Meghann's passion is achieving a healthy lifestyle through sustainable/environmentally friendly practice.

Cicely Thomas, M.Ed., RDN, LD (Diversity Liaison) is currently pursing a Doctorate in Clinical Nutrition at the University of North Florida.  She is the Northwest Georgia WIC Service Nutrition Services Director and serves as the nutrition section president for the Georgia Public Health Association.  Cicely has been a public health clinician for 20 years and loves serving her community.

  Heather Krawsek (Student Services Coordinator). I am a Dietetics Student pursuing a career as a Registered Dietitian. I am almost done my Dietetic Technician program and will be a DTR by next year. My studies focus on weight management and woman’s health. I believe through proper nutrition and lifestyle habits you can achieve overall mind and body wellness.

  Justine Kurduck, PhD, RDN, LDN, CDCES (Member Survey Coordinator) is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign. Justine directs a top-ranked accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics, whose graduates achieve a 100% first-year pass rate on the national CDR Registered Dietitian Certification Exam. As a former clinical dietitian and certified diabetes care and education specialist, she utilizes many years of experience in the field to train future dietitians. The focus of her Ph.D. was on the role of health apps in glycemic control and dietary-related outcomes in patients with diabetes and obesity. Outside of work, Justine enjoys chasing her twin boys around to all of their sporting activities and hiking with her two German Shepherds, Hazel and Axl.

a-matthews-square.png Anne Mathews, PhD, RDN (Network Director) is an Associate Professor at the University of Florida in the Food Science and Human Nutrition Department in Gainesville, FL. In this position, Anne teaches in the Dietetics and Nutritional Science programs and conducts research regarding health behaviors related to weight management and diet quality. Over the years, Anne has served the Weight Management DPG in several positions including Chair, Treasurer, and Nominating Committee Director.
hollie-raynor-square_2019-2020-leadership-photos-250x250.png Hollie Raynor, PhD, RD, LDN (Academy Alliance Representative) is a Professor in the Department of Nutrition and the Interim Assistant Dean of Research in the College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences at the University of Tennessee. She holds a MS in Public Health Nutrition and a PhD in Clinical Psychology. She conducts research in lifestyle interventions for pediatric and adult weight management and has published over 125 peer-reviewed articles.

Chris Weithman, MBA, RD, LDN, FAND (Volunteer Coordinator) is the Corporate RDN for HMR Weight Management Services Corp. [HMR] focused on improving quality of life for those living with obesity. Her areas of specialization include food labeling and product development for meal replacements. Founding member of WMDPG [prior terms as Chair and Treasurer]. She is also passionate about policy for RDN’s. Boston area resident with a retired husband and grown children.

connie.png Connie Diekman, MEd, RD, CSSD, LD, FADA, FAND (Awards and Honors Coordinator) is a Food and Nutrition Consultant in St. Louis, Missouri. A Former President of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and a former chair of the American Heart Association – Missouri affiliate. She is immediate Past Chair of the Weight Management Dietetic Practice Group, a subunit of the Academy.
A former television and radio nutrition reporter Diekman is quoted regularly by the media on nutrition issues. Diekman is the author of two books.



Nadea Minet, MS, RDN, LD (Resource Co-Coordinator) has been working in the field of Bariatrics for 9 years, and loves connecting with professionals and patients alike. She actively participate in providing education to the patients and serving in the community at various health and wellness events and conferences across the country. It’s her mission to make a healthy lifestyle something fun, enjoyable, and maintainable.


Samantha Stavola, MHA, RDN, LD (Resource Co-Coordinator) is a Register Dietitian/Nutritionist with over 9 years of professional experience in the Bariatric industry. She served as the Council on Practice chair for the Philadelphia Dietetic Association 2015-2017. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree from La Salle University and Master’s Degree in Health Administration from Drexel University. She holds Adult Weight Management Certificates In-Training Level 1 and 2 from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Sam has also been a guest speaker at international conferences and is working on authoring several book chapters for an international publication.
