WM DPG is seeking 2-3 DPG members to serve as authors of the: Revised 2021 Standards of Practice and Standards of Professional Performance for Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (Competent, Proficient, and Expert) in Adult Weight Management.
The original publication can be found in the Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, April, 2015 Volume 115, page 609.
Author expectations include dedicating time for:
• 6-9 months for the author development of manuscript
• 4 months for WM DPG Executive Committee and Quality Management Committee review/approval process and author revisions for final documents
• 4 months for Journal publication and proofing timeline
• Flexibility in work schedule for conference calls with authors, DPG Executive Committee Reviewer, and Quality Management Staff;
Author qualifications:
• Holds a specialist certification (at least one author), if the focus area has a recognized certification;
• A variety of work/volunteer experience to speak to the depth and breadth of WM
• Be familiar with the relevant resources, literature, and evidence-based research in WM to provide background and references for the article content
• One author must be a practicing clinician if the focus area is developing/revising an SOP.
Authors will work with both the WM DPG and Quality Management during the project. Quality Management will provide orientation call(s), document development support, and other assistance.
