Tackling pediatric obesity involves a systems-level approach that includes both primary care and public health programs. This webinar will describe the implementation and outcomes of the Texas Childhood Obesity Research Demonstration (TX CORD) project, which was funded by CDC to decrease obesity in low-income, diverse children ages 2-12. Lessons learned will be presented so attendees can apply these learnings to their own practice.
Objectives
- Participants will be able to describe how providers can address obesity prevention through well child visits.
- Participants will be able to explain the implementation and outcomes from the MEND pediatric weight management program.
- Participants will be able to list some of the lessons learned from combining primary and secondary approaches to pediatric obesity prevention
