Stipends

Each year, WM offers our members the opportunity to receive awards and stipends. The goal is to enhance practitioners' skills and promote dietitians in the field of weight management.

Professional development STIPENDS of $500 - $1,000 each will be awarded for attendance at:

• ADA Food & Nutrition Conference & Expo (FNCE) (Submission Deadline: September 15, 2010)
  Date: November 6-9, 2010

  Stipends: (5-General Membership) $500 each; (2-Student) $500

• American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS)

  This meeting is specifically designed for all clinical and academic surgeons and support staff, including any health professional involved in the care of the obese patient who wishes to increase their knowledge of the surgical and perioperative management of the obese patient.

• The Obesity Society Annual Scientific Meeting (TOS)
  Date: October 8-12, 2010
  Location: San Diego, CA
  Stipend: 1 @ $1,000

  The meeting brings together the leading players in the field of obesity from world-renowned basic and clinical researchers and clinicians to educators, advocates, policy shapers and practitioners.
